Knitting Lace: Increases & Decreases

This class will move the knitter from performing the stitch in a pattern to understanding the way the lace will look and perform. Learn a variety of increases and decreases included matched pairs.

Gain confidence in substituting an inc or dec for the one "I always use" to a create a different look. You will explore questions such as, 'which works best in stockinette" or "why does this inc always make a hole?"

Students will begin creating a swatch library to be saved for future reference.

SKILL LEVEL: This class is geared for intermediate knitters who can cast on, cast off, knit and purl.

WHAT TO BRING: Wound skein of fingering or worsted light-colored wool; US 4, 5, or 6 circular needle; pencil; scissors.
