Textured Weaving

with TahNibaa Naataanii

In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to weave a textured weaving, embellished with various semi-precious stones related to the Southwest region (turquoise, shells, coral, etc).

Students will take home a partial or completed weaving.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner to Advanced

WHAT TO BRING: Imagination, dexterity using their fingers, sacking needle, scissors.

MATERIALS INCLUDED: Warped loom ready to weave, weft materials, embellish materials to enhance the weaving.

Meet your instructor…

We are honored to have TahNibaa join us to share her passion for traditional weaving incorporating her personal creative flair. She uses both traditional and non-traditional colors and raises her own sheep, which she shears to create the dyed yarn used in her art. She is a recipient of a 2022 National Heritage Fellowship awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts, which is the United States government's highest honor in the folk and traditional arts.
