Designed to expand your fiber experience, students will use a workbook to explore silk; its • History • Behavior • Varieties • Characteristics • Blends • Production.‍ ‍

Class activities include knitting “successful and set-to-fail” samples; critiquing published patterns and discussing considerations in purchasing silk fiber and yarn.

A shawl pattern is included in the workbook.

SKILL LEVEL: This class is geared for beginner - intermediate knitters who can cast on, cast off, knit and purl.

WHAT TO BRING: One skein of fingering silk yarn wound onto a toilet paper tube, scissors, pencil.

MATERIALS INCLUDED: Class Workbook.
